Unfortunately Margaret drowned on the 11 of April 1939.
She was a bridesmaid at the wedding of the son and daughter in law of Bruce Beale's partner.
The wedding was on the North Shore in Auckland. After the wedding Breakfast the best man, Groomsman and the two bridesmaids, all from Tauranga hurried from the hall to catch the last ferry for the night.
The best man was driving the car and as they approached the Devonport wharf they saw the red light was not showing, (signifying that the ferry had not left), so he drove onto the the gangway which should have been raised, and over the edge they tumbled.
The two men escaped and tried to reach the girls but were unable to save them .
