Third surviving daughter of Mr T.Longstaff, Leeston.

William was born on the 9th of March 1856 and Baptised on the 20th of April 1856 in Ellesmere.
He joined the Trinity Congregational Church on the 28th of February 1872 .
William learnt the trade of a Wheelwright and Coach builder and then went into partnership in Leeston with a Mr Werner in 1878 as a wheelwright . The firm was called Werner and Reader.
On the 11th of November 1891 William married the farmers daughter of Thomas and Hannah Longstaff ( Emma Longstaff).
The ceremony was held at The Presbyterian Church in Leeston on the 11th of November .
In 1896 William and Emma moved to Geraldine.They progressed up to the Taranaki region where his brothers Charles and Thomas lived .
In 1912 he was a coach builder in Marton with no children .
William died at the age of 79 on the 20th of February 1935 at 48 Camberwell Rd Hawera .
