
William Reader
Son of Thomas and Georgianna Kitty Reader (nee Cater )
William was christened in 1848 Islington, London... and married Emily Eliza Cross on the 26th of October 1872 at Islip Oxford, England.
In 1863 like his father and grandfather he joined Longman Greens & Co. He learnt his trade as a lithograpgher / Illustrator and became the manager of the publishing department where he pioneered the idea of a multicolour printing machine by a single impression, but inks were not suitable at that time and the experiment was not a success.

Quick drying inks made this practible in the future. William was a very fine atrist / illustrator and etched many illustrations for his wife Emily .Eliza Cross who published many books like "Fairy Princess Follow my Lead", "Preistess and the Queen". He also did illustrations for his sisters books and Longmans Green on special occasions.
In 1905 he resided at 11 Brownhill Road, Catford, Kent
William died in 1908.
